The nominations for the 69th Golden Globe Awards have been announced today with HBO receiving 18 nominations overall across a range of titles! HBO received the most nominations by any studio, with Showcase being the next most nominated scooping up 8 nominations.

For HBO, the mini-series Mildred Pierce which was released on Blu-ray and DVD in November, received the most with 4 nominations. These include ‘Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made For Television’ with Kate Winslet, Guy Pearce and Evan Rachel Wood all receiving one nomination each for their outstanding performances.

Boardwalk Empire, which is due for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 9th January 2012, received three nominations for ‘Best Television Series – Drama’ and Steve Buscemi and Kelly MacDonald both one each for their performances. Game of Thrones was also nominated for ‘Best Television Series – Drama’ as well as Peter Dinklage for his performance as Tyrion for ‘Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role’.

HBO’s newest title ‘Enlightened’ also received two nominations – one for ‘Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical’ and Laura Dern also received one nomination for her performance.
