HBO recently held the DVD launch event on a glorious day on board the magnificent HMS Belfast. The event was attended by the cast members including the lead actors Jon Seda (John Basilone), Joe Mazzello (Eugene Sledge) and James Badge Dale (Robert Leckie) as well as some of the crew that helped make this epic mini-series come to life. HBO were also very lucky to be joined by Mr. Roy ‘Dusty’ Miller, who fought in the Pacific during WWII.
To bring the 1940’s themed event to life there was jitter bug dancers on deck along with ‘U.S Marines’ playing hoopla and other games of the time. The entertainment also included The Vernon Sisters, a three part band who performed 1940’s style music, as well as a 1940’s band. Guests were treated to a mixologist who prepared Martini’s and Daiquiris.
