Ned Stark Character Teaser

Game of Thrones

Season 1

A stoic, duty-bound and honorable lord, Ned Stark embodies the values of the northern realm over which he rules. Seventeen years ago, he left his home to rise up against the Mad King Aerys Targaryen, fighting alongside his longtime friend Robert Baratheon, who took control of the throne after the war. As Warden of the North, Ned returned to Winterfell with his bastard son, Jon Snow, who despite joining the household, has never been accepted by Ned's wife, Catelyn Stark.

An introduction to Ned Stark, Warden of the North and a a key player in King Robert's rebellion

"Ned start is known as the king of Winterfell which is the northern section of the seven kingdoms. He’s a loyal man, a very decisive man especially loyal towards the king and his family, his wife Catherine and his children. They have a very strong relationship so they’re alright you know, they are quite settled but there’s always a tension when John Snow is around because he’s my bastard son, I love the boy but can’t show him too much emotion in front of my wife because she feels very resentful. That’s their way of life and then all of a sudden it’s changed by a request from the king. The king is the only man I can trust, he’s more like a brother than his own brothers were. And I trust him which is why I decided to become his right hand man. It’s heart wrenching for him to leave his family, his loves his wife very dearly and he needs her and that’s why he feels unsettled about leaving her behind. Half the family stay in Winterfell and half the family go down to kings landing. It’s very disturbing kind of world, a pit of snakes really where these very corrupt people are gaining more and more power. He can’t just be honest and honourable in this society, it doesn’t work, he’d rather die than lose his honour and his loyalty and his sense of duty."
